Slashfilm:

Laika has made a name for themselves with their hand-crafted stop-motion animated feature films like Coraline, ParaNorman and the upcoming movie Boxtrolls. But the Portland-based animation studio wants to help hand-drawn animation make a comeback. During the Boxtrolls Hall H presentation at 2014 San Diego Comic Con International, Laika head Travis Knight would like to do a 2D hand-drawn animated feature film. Find out more about a possible Laika hand-drawn animation feature film, after the jump.

It burns us, precious.

This looks really good, guys.

Oh man, I wasn’t sure what I thought about it when it was announced, but this clip won me over.

But, all joking aside, the ending to the song and dance number has always creeped me out, and as the years have gone on it has become even more creepy. That ominous castle rising out of the background. It’s almost prophetic of the disney takeover. O:

anyone know how to get out of a negative thinking pattern regarding art? (or any negative thought process)

I’m having the toughest time breaking it, and it contributed to my downward spiral big time. :( I just feel like I’m so mediocre. Everything I draw is too stiff, or terrible, or boring, or what have you. Or maybe I just need to get off of tumblr/ social media for a while… I just feel like I’m never going to get anywhere with this art thing. And that’s tough because art’s the only thing I’ve ever really wanted. I don’t know enough of anything else either… I feel so lost right now. :(

Help?
